I’m short and normally kind of at an average weight for someone with a sedentary job, but I’m carrying extra pounds due to some medication, so I was worried that something tight would look bad on me. It turns out all the loose sun dresses looked funny on me, but this looks surprisingly great. In slimming black, it accentuates curves in most of the right places, and if you have a bit of a tummy like I do, you can wear shapewear underneath it. (Surprisingly, “boy short” shapewear seemed to keep me cooler in it than half slip shapewear, so that’s what I’d recommend). This dress goes on like a T-shirt and feels super comfortable, but the ribbed material is nicer than a T-shirt. The “fishtail” bottom is a very nice touch, and it does feel sexy. One person has already asked whether I lost weight. The one con to this over my usual jeans is that it doesn’t have any pockets (but I bet pockets would look weird on it anyway). Definitely give this one a try. I’m back to order additional colors. You may want to size down a tiny bit. To help with sizing, right now, I’m hovering around 144 lbs., and I’m 5’2 and 3/4 inches, and a medium fit very well. My bust is 36, and the size chart says medium is 33, so maybe they’re talking about an underbust measurement? My waist is a bit bigger than what the medium says, too, though, and I think another review encouraged me to get a medium, and I’m glad I did. The dress has some stretch to it, but I’m certainly not pushing it to its limits. Medium was right. Length wise, I don’t wear heels, and it doesn’t drag on the ground, but is about a perfect length, especially for what I want. (Which is to wear comfy tennis shoes with it and not draw too much attention to them. Don’t judge too much. 😉 ) Update: This glowing review only applies to the black version of this dress. I just tried it in A3_short sleeve_red, and the red one seems to show panty and bra lines through it plus any extra body flaws. My husband pointed out the bra line is super visible in the back, and when I said I’d be returning it and wondered if we just didn’t notice the bra lines were showing on the black one, he said there was no way he was letting me return the black one… that’s how good he thought the black one looked on me. 🙂 If your body is perfect and you don’t mind bra/panty lines and you want to try the red, this red is NOT an understated burgundy. It’s a much lighter and brighter red. I think it is still slightly on the cool side vs. the warm side of red, but not by much (close enough that I could be wrong). It’s not tomato red at all and is still nice, but it is much brighter than I expected. (I know you can’t trust your monitor for color and all that, but mine’s usually pretty close, and this one was not close. That’s not a problem with the dress or vendor… it’s expected in online shopping, so I’m just describing it so you’ll know what to expect. It was still pretty and I was half tempted to keep it, but it just didn’t look as good on me as the black one.)
