Laura Kirar’s playfully theatrical woven natural rattan palm forms call to mind the classic era of the 1930s in the coastal south of France. Kirar pays homage to the details of casually curated Mediterranean interiors with their influences of aged formal furniture, the micro-climate combinations of tropical plants and pines, and the passion for all things exotic from carved Spanish vargueño to primitive and sculptural African chairs.
